Amsterdam, 22.03.2013 – COMPAREX, international provider of IT services in the fields of software licensing and licence management, has strengthened its position in the Dutch market with the acquisition of Agile Software and InfraControl. Both companies are currently part of the Dutch Solimas Group and will continue their activities under their own brand name. They will remain located in the city of Alphen aan den Rijn.
“I am very happy to welcome two excellent new teams to our group! I am confident that they will complement our highly qualified and motivated Dutch team very well”, says Hansjörg Egger, CEO COMPAREX Group. ”The acquisition fits our strategy of focussing both on our global software licensing strength and the individual local support delivered by our subsidiaries. In the Netherlands, we are now the largest supplier of Software Asset Management solutions as well as the biggest Large Account Reseller in the market by far, with an enormous amount of certifications and knowledge in this area.”
"COMPAREX has the ambition to expand the activities in the SMB segment as well as in the field of Software Asset Management considerably. We achieve an important step forward in the execution of this strategy,” says Marc Betgem, Executive Vice President COMPAREX BeNeLux & South Africa. Agile Software and InfraControl are market leaders in the Netherlands in the area of SMB software licensing and Software Asset Management services.
“By becoming part of COMPAREX we can advise and support our customers in the field of software license procurement on a much larger scale. We will now start to drive business internationally as well. Our customers benefit directly from the economy of scale of a large, internationally present company. At the same time the number of Software Asset Management consultants doubles, which means we now have all the necessary expertise”, says Maarten van Montfoort, General Manager Solimas Group and future member of the Management board of the combined group. COMPAREX is currently present in 29 countries and has more than 2.350 certifications from approximately 55 software vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, VMware and Citrix.
This acquisition allows the three established organizations to expand their leading positions even more. After the acquisition COMPAREX Netherlands employs more than 150 people and will have an annual turnover of approximately EUR 250 million. The business activities will be continued from the offices in Amsterdam and Alphen aan den Rijn.
It is expected that the Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) will conclude its approval process in the second quarter this year. In the meantime all companies will continue to operate as independent entities.
