COMPAREX Privacy Statement for Social Media Pages

We want to provide you with the following information to explain how we use your data pursuant to Article 13 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Responsible Party

COMPAREX AG, Blochstrasse 1, 04329 Leipzig, Germany, runs the following Social Media pages:

Find our contact data in the imprint.

Besides us, there is also the operator of the social media platform itself. This operator is a further entity who processes data, whom we can influence only to a limited extent. Where we can influence and parameterize the data processing, we work in the context of the possibilities available to us toward the privacy-compliant handling by the operator of the social media platform. In many areas, however, we cannot influence the data processing by the operator of the social media platform, and we also do not know exactly which data is being processed by the operator.

Our Data Processing

The data entered by you on our social media pages, such as comments, videos, images, likes, public messages, etc., are published by the social media platform and are never used or processed by us for any other purpose. We merely reserve the right to delete content, if necessary. If and where necessary, we share your content on our site if it is a function of the social media platform, and communicate with you via the social media platform. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) S. 1 (f) GDPR. The data is processed in the interest of our public relations and communications.

If you wish to object to particular data processing that we can influence, please contact us via the contact information provided in the imprint. We will then investigate your objection.
If you submit an inquiry to us on the social media platform, we may, depending on the required response, also refer you to other secure communication channels that guarantee confidentiality. You may always send us confidential inquiries via our address stated in the imprint.

As already explained, where the provider of the social media platform gives us the opportunity to do so, we take special care to make our social media pages as privacy-compliant as possible.
We use the social media platforms for advertising purposes. In doing so, we also use the demographic, interest-based, behavior-based, or location-based target group definitions for advertising provided by the operator of the respective social media platform. For more information on data collection and data processing on the social media platforms and the protection of your privacy there, see the privacy protection policies of the respective providers listed below. We can influence only to a limited extent, and we cannot disable, the statistics that the provider of the social media platform makes available to us. However, we ensure that no additional optional statistics are provided to us that involve the processing of personal data.

We use conversion tracking options for individual social media channels. For this purpose, we have incorporated corresponding pixels or tags in our website in order to collect conversion data.

For further information please read our Full Privacy Statement.

Data Processing by the Operator of the Social Media Platform

The operator of the social media platform uses web-tracking methods. Web-tracking can be performed regardless of whether you are logged into or registered with the social media platform. As already explained, the web-tracking methods of the social media platform are, for the most part, beyond our control. For example, we cannot disable these methods.

Please take note: It cannot be ruled out that the provider of the social media platform uses your profile and behavioral data, for example, to evaluate your habits, personal relationships, preferences, etc. In this respect, we have no influence over the processing of your data by the provider of the social media platform.

For more information on data processing by the provider of the social media platform and further options to object, please refer to the privacy protection policy of the provider:

Your Rights as a User

The GDPR grants you certain rights as a website user where the processing of your personal data is concerned:

1.) Right of access by the data subject (Art. 15 GDPR):

You have the right to ask for confirmation whether your personal data is processed. If this is the case, you are entitled to obtain information about such personal data and the information listed in Article 15 GDPR.

2.) Right to rectification and erasure (Art. 16 and 17 GDPR):

You have the right to immediately request the correction of incorrect personal data concerning you and, if necessary, to have incomplete personal data completed.
You also have the right to demand that personal data relating to you be deleted immediately, provided that one of the reasons listed in Art. 17 GDPR is applicable, for example, when the data is no longer needed for the purposes pursued.

3.) Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR):

You have the right to demand the restriction of processing if one of the conditions listed in Art. 18 GDPR is met, for example, for the duration of any pending verification if you have objected to the processing.

4.) Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR):

In certain cases – listed in detail in Art. 20 GDPR – you have the right to receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, common, and machine-readable format or to request the transmission of such data to a third party.

5.) Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR):

Where data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) (data processing for the protection of legitimate interests), you have the right to object to the processing at any time for reasons that arise from your particular situation. If the social media operator grants an opportunity to do so, we will no longer process the personal data unless there are evidently compelling legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh the interests, rights, and freedoms of the data subject, or where the data is processed for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority

Under Art. 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection regulations. This right to lodge a complaint may be exercised in particular before a supervisory authority in the member state where you currently live or work, or in the place where you suspect the infringement is occurring.
