Update to “Dual Use Rights” for Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 From SA customers
Leipzig, 07/01/2019 – According to Microsoft, the decision to retain the “Dual Use Rights” policy in the Microsoft 365 From SA Product Terms is intended to help customers migrate to Office 365 ProPlus apps – contrary to the earlier announcement to allow unlimited Office clients in new or extended contracts that included the “From SA” version of Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 to expire. However, maintaining the policy will give customers more flexibility and time to introduce and deploy Office 365 ProPlus.
The Windows Server 2016 Licensing Model Will Be Changed on 30 September 2019
Leipzig, 07/01/2019 – 30 September is an important date for the licensing of Windows Server 2016. After the licensing model’s move from per-processor to per-core, there were customers who needed more core licenses than Microsoft’s standard migration provided (eight cores per CPU and 16 cores per server). Customers who needed more than eight cores per CPU and more than 16 cores per server received “additional core licenses” from Microsoft without any additional costs. However, Software Assurance had to have been concluded for these “additional core licenses.”
